Lou Sullivan Society Monthly Meeting is held on the third Saturday of each month from 2:00-5:00 pm. Please check this site for the latest information on special topics or events.

*On February 20th, the Lou Sullivan Society welcomes Rev. Megan Rohrer, curator of an upcoming GLBT Historical Society exhibit on the tradition of mentoring in the FTM community.

We will also be discussing future plans for the Lou Sullivan Society, in 2010 and beyond. Bring your ideas!

NOTE: While the address for our location is 45 Castro St., we are not in the building signed "45 Castro." We meet across the driveway in the hospital building, signed "North Tower". Our meeting room is on the basement level, to the left of the cafeteria.

Our meeting format has changed! We are no longer alternating between open and closed meetings. LSS meetings will be open to all members of the transcommunity (including significant others, family, and friends) unless otherwise specified.

FTMs of Color Support Group (FTMOC) FTMOC is a monthly support group for transmasculine spectrum folks who identify as persons of color. South Bay Transmen Social & Support Group is for FTM/Questioning guys. A group for FTM trans people, including gender questioning, considering the transition, in process or completed the transition. Meets the fourth Tuesday of the month 7:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at the DeFrank Center in San Jose, CA.

Santa Cruz Transgender Support Group Meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month. All trans and trans-questioning individuals are invited to come and share personal experiences in a confidential, safe, and caring environment. St. James Infirmary for Sex Workers Offers free, confidential, non-judgmental medical care, massage, acupuncture, peer and substance use counseling, legal and social service referrals and a food/clothing bank. You can check your emaill, get chair massage, or face acupuncture while you wait and talk to other sex workers. If you get get treatment, its not just a clinic, you can hang out with all your friends who you never knew were hookers, too! Tuesday 12-3pm, Wednesday night from 6-9pm, Thursday 6-9pm Transgender Health Clinic. Current and former sex workers as well as their partners and families are welcome to drop in. Stanislaus County Transgender Support Group The Stanislaus Pride Center sponsors meetings on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month, 7:30pm and 9pm at a confidential location. Info: 209-567-3121, stanislauspridecenter.com

TG, TS, Etc. Prayer group Interdenominational MF/FM group of TG, TS, Intersexed and their LGBT friends. All welcome. MCC San Francisco is part of the Metropolitan Community Churches, an international denomination that embraces transgender persons, lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals, along with their families, friends, and advocates. THIP (Transgender Health Issues Project) A program of the Black Coalition on AIDS focused on providing health related support, services and outreach to SF’s transgender black community. Various social, community, support and outreach opportunities. Info: Tanya, 615-9945.

Trans & Gender Variant in Prison Committee Learn about the abuses that trans and gender variant folks face in the prison and help to work towards ending this abuse. Transgender Community of Police and Sheriffs(TCOPS) An online discussion group to find support, talk, ask advice and make friends within this unique segment of the law enforcement community. We also have resources to assist active officers address transition-related and employment concerns before, during and after gender transition. Trans Parent Support Group is an informal, monthly, free, peer-led meeting sponsored by Our Family Coalition. Members have included current parents, parents with grown offspring, and individuals considering parenthood who identified as FTM, MTF, genderqueer, transgender, cross-dresser, or transsexual (pre-, mid-, or post- transition). Third Saturdays, 10-noon. SF LGBT Community Center, 1800 Market St. @ Octavia (usually in room 302 - third floor).
