The Festival opens with a performance extravaganza featuring performances by ThiswayThatway, Psychobabble, Butch Tap, StormMiguel Florez, Natasha Muse, Landa Lakes, Amir Rabiyah and Shawna Virago.

The Festival continues Friday and Saturday November 5 and 6 with the weekend FILM FESTIVAL – two dynamic programs of local, national and international short films and videos by transgender and gender variant artists.

Do you need help with filing for a court ordered name or gender change? Do you have questions about changing your gender on your identity documents such as your DMV ID, your Passport or with Social Security?

This legal clinic is an opportunity for you to ask questions and for us to help you complete your court forms and navigate the Name & Gender change process.

FtM Singing Workshop 8/3 @ TRANS:THRIVE

If you missed the May meeting of the Lou Sullivan Society (or if you attended, and are ready for more), now is your chance to attend a singing workshop for FTMs with the fab Eli Conley!

The August 3rd meeting of the TRANS : THRIVE Transmasculine Group will feature a singing workshop lead by singer/songwriter and voice teacher Eli Conley. Come prepared to experiment with your voice and sing! This workshop welcomes all FtM spectrum people, whether you’ve sung professionally or never sung a note. It is appropriate both for people who are on hormones and those who are not.

Eli Conley is a transgender man who trained in jazz singing at Berklee College of Music and classical vocal performance at Oberlin Conservatory. Eli performs around the bay area as an indie folk singer/songwriter — see myspace.com/eliconley — and sings tenor with the Grammy award-winning San Francisco Symphony Chorus. LSS joins trans-coalition leading 2010 Pride Parade in SF

Trans people and trans-serving organizations will be the Lead Contingent of the 2010 Pride Parade on Sunday, June 27th! This will be a historic first for trans people and a wonderful opportunity to show we are proud, united and fierce.

We hope that you will join us on Sunday, June 27th! Every person who will march with the trans contingent is encouraged to bring an umbrella and to decorate that umbrella!

Line up is no later than 10:00 am on Sunday, June 27th on Spear Street between Market and Mission Street.

This community driven collaboration currently includes the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, Community United Against Violence, El/La Program Para Trans Latinas, the Lou Sullivan Society, Lyon-Martin Health Services, Project HEALTH, River City Gems, SF TEAM, TGI Justice Project, TGSF, Transcendence Gospel Choir, the Transgender Law Center, the Trans March, TransPowerment y TransUnidas, and many more trans-serving organizations and community members. We look forward to seeing you at the 2010 San Francisco Pride Parade!

Capitol T! 5th Annual Transgender Leadership Summit

Capitol T: Growing a Movement for Transgender Equality, the 5th Annual Transgender Leadership Summit, will be hosted at the University of California at Davis on Friday, May 14, 2010 through Sunday, May 16, 2010.

This year will be historic as we introduce the first ever California Transgender Advocacy Day on Monday, May 17, 2010 in Sacramento at the California State Capitol. Make sure to join us at this important event in California’s history as we reach out and educate legislators throughout California about the need for good jobs and health care for our community.
