About The Lou Sullivan Society
The Lou
Sullivan Society strives to keep the life and spirit of Louis Graydon
Sullivan alive in the hearts and minds of transgender, transsexual and
genderqueer men through providing information, support, community
building, education and advocacy for Female to Male persons and their
loved ones.
Building on the 20 plus year history of volunteer-driven peer support
started by Louis G. Sullivan, LSS offers support for
Transmen and SOFFAs of all genders, bridge building with the various
trans communities and education/advocacy with the FTM Voices project
interjecting the FTM point of view into the conversation.
Who We Are
The Lou Sullivan Society
(LSS) was founded in 2007 by five FTM-identified men, all of
whom had found support in the FTM peer-support group that was
orginally started by Lou Sullivan. (This group
was previously run by the organization FTM International, which no
longer has a San Francisco base.)
LSS is affiliated with TransGender San Francisco, and is working with
TGSF to build bridges between
the FTM and MTF communities in the bay area.
